Rachel Madocks School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Learning Support Assistant to join our supportive and dynamic team. This role is a maternity cover position, where you will work with students aged 2–19 with diverse learning, communication, and health needs. If you’re enthusiastic about

About the Role: This role is 30 hours per week, term-time only, from 8:45am to 3:15pm Monday–Friday (including a 30-minute lunch break). There is some flexibility in hours for the right candidate, though a minimum of three days per week is required.
The successful candidate will:
• Work across the breadth of the school, supporting pupils with complex needs.
• Be a valued member of a committed and friendly team.
Requirements: We welcome applications from individuals with or without experience in SEND. A strong desire to work with children and support their development is essential. The ability to attend after-school meetings and essential training sessions is required.

Rachel Madocks School is looking to expand its team of Lunchtime Supervisory Assistants to support pupils aged 2–19 with learning, communication, and complex health needs ranging from severe to profound and multiple. Rachel Madocks Special School is a co-educational day school for 101 pupils aged 2 -19 with severe, profound and multiple learning difficulties and complex medical needs, near to Waterlooville.

We are currently recruiting for a Co-opted Governor to join our friendly governing body, drawn from members of the local community. Their important
role is to support the excellent work of the school, be a critical friend and ensure we become ‘outstanding’. We usually meet at school at 5pm. There is now the opportunity for Governors to attend a meeting virtually, if they are unable to attend a particular meeting in person. You would be expected to attend approximately 8 meetings annually.
Job/Person Summary
• Governing bodies have a strong focus of three core strategic functions: Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and direction
• Holding the Headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils, and the performance management of the staff
• Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent
• Each individual governor is a member of a governing body and all decisions are the joint responsibility of the governing body
• No one governor is not expected to know it all. The strength of a governing body lies in its ability to attract and rely upon members from a wide variety of backgrounds, sharing out the duties amongst its members, and be able to take decisions as a group
• Team work and ability to offer professional discussion
